HD design is Hamish Duncan,
a creative looking for the next journey.
My design journey began in New Zealand, focusing on visual identity and publication design for national and Pacific region clients, including government agencies, corporations, and tourism. My passion for typography was kindled at this early point in my career.
After a year and a half travelling through the United States, I settled in France, where I worked on identity programmes for the international groups Vivendi, Alcatel, Accor, and Relais H with CBa’s corporate team. This marked a shift in my design perspective, and I honed my expertise in crafting identity guidelines.
For the last 12 years, I've been the Creative Director at a Swiss branding and packaging agency. I’ve nurtured iconic local Swiss brands and collaborated with companies like Migros, Nestlé, Campari, and Kambly, developing comprehensive design guidelines for various product ranges.
My experience spans diverse FMCG categories, enhancing my adaptability and understanding of product category codes. I value workshops and consumer testing, involving end-users early to streamline the design process and achieve better results.
I have extensive experience leading and collaborating within teams. This includes task coordination, responsibility delegation, fostering teamwork, and promoting personal growth. I'm particularly passionate about mentoring young designers and interns, recognising the significant advantages it brings.
If you’re interested in working together and share my passion for trust, unity, and design excellence, please get in touch. It's not just about the journey; it's about the people we make the journey with.
